Its hard to find a business for sale in a growing region that is already rocking like this one. Located in idyllic coastal Northern California, they are the “go to” Mac and iPhone repair shop in an area that has an Apple Store 30 minutes away. Add to that the fact that they have won both of the “Best of the Bay” awards for 6 years running, serially winning Best Computer Repair AND Best Phone Repair. Their regular customers keep them busy, so much so, that advertising overwhelms the technicians. They serve an expanding commercial and residential market, have few competitors, and primarily rely on referrals for new customers. They are positioned for growing in a variety of directions, but the current owner is ready to move on, so he will leave the strategic expansion up to the new owner(s). They built their reputation by doing honest hardware and software repairs, backup and data recovery services, liquid damage repairs, virus removal and more. They work on all Apple (as well as most non-Apple) mobile and computing devices. Business and home users can walk in or schedule repairs and they also make house and office calls all over the county. The shop employs three technicians, and the owner is a master technician, capable of repairing all devices. He intends to remain with the new owner(s) for a brief period, doing house calls and office visits. The shop has an old school feel to it, with all wood shelving for repair jobs and parts, as well as and handmade wooden work benches and a gorgeous front desk with a redwood slab on it. It is a relaxing place for stressed-out, non-tech savvy people to come inside and ask for help. There is a small space in the front waiting area for common retail items like cables, chargers and backup drives. In the business, there is a lot of room for growth, particularly 1) Refurbishing - all set up and fully stocked with tons of computers to refurbish 2) On-site services 3) User education/training 4) IT services for Mac-based businesses 5) In house micro-soldering repairs House calls and user education are two aspects where many clients express interest. With the exception of house calls, the above services are rarely utilized. PROs: The business is solidly established and highly regarded in the community and throughout the county. People regularly express gratitude for a welcoming environment free of tech jargon. Their customer base is loyal and they keep business local. New owner(s) get to keep: 1) The customer database and CRM system 2) A fully stocked inventory of parts for all Apple devices (which is mostly the 2009-2017 vintage machines, and all Apple phones and tablets) 3) Full sets of tools and repair equipment 4) A second shop in the back (included with the lease) ready to be a refurb workshop (a ton of computers and more spare parts) 5) The business logo - very strong and works well with the name 6) Security system (Web-based cam and ADT) CONs - People do not like being without their technology, so the new owner(s) really needs to be able to deal with people who are not happy that their phone/computer is not ready or whatever the case is. There are a lot of moving pieces in this business - there are repair parts that need to be re-stocked for future repairs, computers to be refurbished, and computers to break down for recycling. There are people who need urgent answers to simple questions, as well as tech-savvy people who don’t feel comfortable doing hardware repairs (i.e. the local school districts). There are customers who need to pick up their equipment, but can’t be reached for whatever reason. There are customers who need estimates, but prices fluctuate, so constantly checking what the current prices are, is a thing. The business name may be a problem for obtaining Apple certifications. There is currently no functional website but that will change in the near future. Location: Sonoma County, California Year Established: 2013 Number of Employees: 3 Real Estate: Leased Building Sq.
